Pan-Seared Flank Steak (Whole 30, Paleo, Keto)

Category, DifficultyBeginner

Flank steak is a good protein to have handy. Relatively cheap and lean, it goes nicely in a variety of salads and can be seasoned in a variety of ways. The recipe here is the simplest preparation. However, a marinade of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and mustard or coconut aminos, rice vinegar, and sesame oil makes for a delicious piece of meat.

Yields1 Serving

 6 oz flank steak
1 tbsp grass-fed butter or ghee
 1 tsp olive oil
 1 pinch of salt

1

Heat up the oil on the stove at a high heat. Feel free to use coconut oil or avocado oil, depending on what you're serving the steak with.

2

Salt the flank steak.

3

When the pan is hot, sear the flank steak on the high heat for two minutes per side.

4

Once the steak is seared, lower the heat to the lowest setting. If you're using cast iron, turn off the heat and leave the steak in the pan. Leave for 10 min.

5

Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before you cut it.
