Being paleo on a normal day can be a challenge (although a fun one!), but imagine being paleo after a wisdom tooth extraction. Getting your wisdom teeth out SUCKS. The pre-procedure anxiety sucks, the activity itself sucks, and the recovery is no picnic either.
Although I’d love to have ice cream for every meal, it will obviously not provide me with the nutrients that I need to make a full and speedy recovery. That’s why I came up with this smoothie recipe.
Although smoothies can be high in sugar for those looking to lose weight on a paleo diet, this recipe is relatively low in sugar yet still tastes delicious. It also goes down pretty easy, and basically all of the ingredients can be found at Trader Joe’s.
Paleo smoothie – wisdom tooth extraction
To soothe a sore mouth and nourish the soul
- 1 cup of frozen berries
- 1 can of Trader Joe’s coconut milk
- 2 tbs cashew butter (I made my own, which was less sticky than the store brand)
- 1 tbs collagen powder
- The juice of 1 lime
- Put all of the ingredients in a blender and let go for a few minutes.
- Eat — but not with a straw!
